 Bantam-Scooper Sticks Clinic (Posted 6/21/10)
Prince Georges Lacrosse Club is
sponsoring Bantam-Scooper sticks clinics for players ages 5-8--1st
Tuesdays ( July 6 and August 3) in University Park (town field next
to the Elementary School on Queens Chapel Road) 6:30-7:30PM, just
bring sticks (will be using soft indoor balls)...bring
friends! Come try out the fastest game on two feet by learning
to catch, throw, scoop and shoot from college players and

New Announcement (Posted 5/25/10)
This good year for our teams is
directly attributable to good coaching. Thanks to Coaches Zak,
Colin, Larry, Mark, Bill, James, Seth, Brian and all the scorers and
timers. Hope everyone comes back next year to make PG better
and better!

New Announcement (Posted 5/19/10)
Again Team
pictures this Friday, 5/21 at Duvall at 6:30, wear
uniforms. I think Peewees and Juniors will have a
practice the same night. Bantams will meet with Coach Riley in
University Park for the Bantam skills clinic 6:30-7:30 PM and we
will take a team picture there.
Practices this week (5/10 through
5/20) subject to weather! Tues would be at Duvall, Wednesday would be at Greenbelt MS
(baseball game at Duvall).
Bantam skill
clinic on Friday 6:30-7:30 at Riverdale Presby. Church in University
Park. Juniors, Midgets and Peewees team pictures on
Friday at Duvall Field, times TBD.
Saturday, May
22 SMYLA Tournament at Bowie Fields in Mitchville.
EVERYONE PLEASE TRY TO BE THERE and EARLY for our last games (other
than all-star game for those selected). Our teams did well (no last
places, no 9 AM tourney games, go midgets--finishing second in the
division--see bracket attached). Game times: Juniors versus
Linganore 10 AM Field 1, Midgets versus winner of
MVSA/Mechanicsville 11AM Field 5, Peewees versus Linganore 11AM
Field 4.
Bantams will play in the
shootout--don't know the times yet.
General info about the tournament:
Games are short (be there early), we will need scorers and timers,
positive cheering only (no backtalk to refs from ANYONE--players
or parents), bring water, help pick up trash, remember to buy
SMYLA tournament T-shirts from PG (we pay for them). Parking is a
pain--try to carpool, park across the street at the park and cross
carefully, DON'T DOUBLE PARK. After games: Collect all jerseys
(keep the shorts), Bantam equipment.
We will have
a parent/coach wrap-up meeting at Hard Times Cafe on Friday
night, June 4 where I
will officially turn over the commissionership to Tim and Stacey
Morrison who will do a great job! My family and I will always love
PG and help out with clinics, coach training and the transition.
