Awards Banquet Still On Schedule
Dear CPBGC Members,
Our 2012 Awards Banquet is still scheduled to happen this afternoon, despite the weather.
Please be advised that the parking lot may still be slippery, so be cautious when you turn onto the access road from Metzerott!
The banquet will start 5pm. If you have not already bought tickets, they will be $7 at the door.
College Park Boys and Girls Club Awards Banquet

Our 2012 Awards Banquet will be held at the Moose Lodge in College Park this Saturday, January 21st from 5pm until 8pm. Pizza and subs are on the menu, along with sodas, iced tea, and lemonade.
Tickets for the Awards Banquet this year will be $5.00 for adults and children over the age of 3 if tickets are purchased or a reservation is made prior to 1/19/12. Tickets at the door without a reservation will be $7.00.
The Moose Lodge is located at 3700 Metzerott Rd., College Park, MD 20740-4432.

Family Fun Bowling Bash
The College Park Recreation Board is sponsoring the Family Fun Bowling Bash on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at the AMF College Park Lanes Bowling Center. The event runs from 1pm to 4pm. The cost is $5.00 per person for the first 100 College Park residents, then the price will go to $10.00 per person. The fee includes unlimited bowling from 1:00–4:00 p.m., shoe rental, soda & pizza.

College Park Boys and Girls Club Award Nominations
Dear CPBGC Members,
At the end of each year we normally turn our attention to recognizing the achievements of our members. Well, 2011 is coming to an end and it is that time of the year again. Enclosed you will find nomination forms for the College Park Boys & Girls Club major awards.
I realize how busy everyone is but I urge you to take a moment to look over these awards. There are awards for athletic achievement & sportsmanship, as well as the Mayors’ award, which are based on academic achievement and community service. Please take the time to recognize a child you may have noticed during the past year. Your nomination makes a difference.
Nominations may be made by any registered member of the club, adult or youth. Please include as much information as possible for each nomination. This makes the job of the committee much easier. If you are unsure of particular information ask a coach or parent, but do not hesitate to nominate anyone you feel deserves recognition. *NOTE: Awards that do not receive an adequate number of nominations may not be awarded.
One nomination form per award is enclosed. You may reproduce this form or use a separate sheet of paper. Please note the ages listed on each award, refer to the child’s age during 2011. These awards along with the 2011 individual sport awards will be presented at our Annual Awards Banquet to be held January 21, 2012 from 5pm-10pm at the College Park Moose Lodge.

Prince George's Lax Club Winter Clinic Series
This is the perfect time for your child to start playing lacrosse! In anticipation of a 100% revamped and rebranded Prince George’s Lacrosse Club experience in Spring 2012, the Prince George’s Lacrosse Club is offering a series of lacrosse clinics from highly trained former NCAA players and area high school coaches.
· Where: Cole Field House, Indoor Turf Fields @ Univ. of MD.
· Dates: 12/2, 1/8, 1/22, 2/12, 2/19
· Cost: Dec. 2nd is Free!! $30 for all four Jan. & Feb. clinics!
· Who: Boys & Girls ages 5-15, from beginners to advanced.
If you have lacrosse equipment please bring it. If not, no problem! It will be provided.

We are looking for a few good people to step-up and volunteer for some
seats on our board of directors.
Specifically, we are looking for a Girls Athletic
Director and an Equipment Manager, but there will be a total of 6 positions up for election this year.

WHEN: FRIDAY MARCH 25, 2011
TIME: 7:00 – 8:00 (1 HOUR ONLY)
PLACE: DAVIS HALL
This will be the final baseball registration for the 7/8 and 11/12 age groups.
If we do not get several more players signed up by Friday night, there will be no team in College Park for either age this year.
If you cannot make it Friday night, please email me to let me know that your child wants to play and I will add him to the team, and we will take care of the paperwork later.
I know a lot of the kids are involved in other things right now that run through the spring, but please note that the baseball games will not start until April 30th for the 11/12 age group and May 7th for the 7/8 age group.
